Data controller

Morten Ljøstad is responsible for the processing of personal data on this website. Contact: ljoestad@gmail.com, +47 90 59 18 20.

What we collect

  • Name, email address and phone number.
  • Dates, number of guests, selected add-ons and any message to us.
  • Payment information. Card details are registered directly with Stripe. We never see or store the card number, only a reference to the card.

The website uses no analytics or advertising cookies. It remembers the language you have chosen in one cookie, and the admin login uses one necessary cookie.

Why, and on what legal basis

The data is used to process your booking request, contact you about your stay and take payment, including the deposit and any additional charges. The legal basis is that the processing is necessary to enter into and perform the rental agreement (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)), and to comply with our accounting obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)).

Who we share data with

  • Stripe: payment and security deposit.
  • Vercel and Upstash: hosting of the website and the database where bookings are stored.
  • Resend: sending emails about your booking (approval, payment link and confirmation) to you, and notifications to the owner.
  • Airbnb: only which dates are taken, marked “Reserved”. Airbnb does not receive names or contact details.
  • Google: the map at the bottom of the page is loaded from Google Maps.

The data is never sold and is not used for marketing.

How long we keep data

  • Completed bookings: 5 years after check-out, as required by the Norwegian Bookkeeping Act.
  • Requests that did not result in a booking: 6 months after the requested dates.

After that, name, email, phone and message are deleted automatically. Only dates and amounts are kept, and they cannot be linked to you.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of or deletion of your data, and object to the processing. Contact us at ljoestad@gmail.com. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (datatilsynet.no).
